Saptamrut Loha is an ayurvedic herbo-mineral tablet formulation composed of 7 ingredients. The Sanskrit word 'Sapta' means seven and 'Amrut' means Elixir, so this formulation contains 7 elixirs  which promote health and wellbeing of the individual. It contains loha (iron) bhasma as its key ingredient which helps in curing anaemia.

It is also used in the treatment of anorexia(decreased appetite), vomiting, fever, fatigue, bloating, oedema, Urinary incontinence and inflammation. It mainly aims at treating and managing all sorts of eye disorders like conjunctivitis, immature cataract, glaucoma, dry eyes, eye irritation, vision impairment,myopia, computer vision syndrome and other eye diseases.

This medication is also useful for treating and managing hair issues like hair fall, premature greying of hair, dandruff and other scalp infections. According to Rasendra Sar Sangrah, Saptamrut Loha is also denoted as 'Timirahara Loha' as it is used for treating 'Timir Rog' which  refers to the initial stage of cataract, when a person just starts having blurred and cloudy vision, fuzzy spots, difficulty in seeing in the dark, and increased sensitivity to light.

Ayurvedic scriptures mentions the Use of saptamrit Loha in the treatment of a wide range of diseases such as night blindness, dry eyes, eye injury, eye stiffness, defective vision,darkness in front of the eyes, aggravation of Vata and Pitta dosha, clears dirt from eyes, Acute orbital cellulitis, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, hyperemia of conjunctiva, calms red eyes, and eye irritation, good for hair, burning sensation, stimulates appetite, prevents bloating, indigestion, enhances stomach fire, helps in digestion, stimulates appetite, treats skin disorders, emesis, fever, improves complexion, abdominal fullness, peptic ulcer, urinary obstruction and bleeding.

Saptamrut Loha is also very useful in 'Urdhwajatru roga'(the disorders of the ear, nose, throat and teeth). It helps in curing the headache caused by the ophthalmic pathology. Saptamrut Loha increases the Haemoglobin level and nourishes the hair. Regular use of Saptamrut Loha sharpens the eyesight and increases the vigour, vitality and glow of the face.
