    Method of Extraction

    This Oil is extracted from pakwa tuvarakaphala also called Chalmungra oil and is indicated in all types of kushta roga. As per classics, Pakwa tuvaraka phala is collected, fruit gently pounded, and dry seeds are separated from the fruit, spread in steel trays, and dried under the hot sun.

    Properly dried seeds are pounded in a pulverizer and made into a paste. Then this is boiled by adding water in a wide-mouthed vessel with frequent stirring. Boiled till a layer of oil is formed on the surface of the liquid. The supernatant oil layer is separated and can be used for the preparation of medicated oils.

    • Tuvaraka is Katu Tikta rasa, Snigdha Tikshna guna and Usna virya.

    • It is Tridosha hara and mainly pacifies Kapha dosha
