Pradarantak Lauh is an Ayurvedic medicine prepared by combining herbs and ashes. Pradhanratak lauh includes Lauh Bhasma, Tamra Bhasma, Pure Hartal, Vangabhasam, Abhraka Bhasma, Kauri Bhasma and many other useful herbs including Trikatu, Triphala, Chitrakmoola.

Baidyanath Pradarantak lauh is indicated in leucorrhoea, loss of appetite & problems associated with menstrual cycle.

In common parlance, leucorrhoea is also called white discharge or problem of Safed Paani . It has yellowish-green discharge from vagina or vagina which smells bad. In addition to this, there is also itching and burning around the reproductive organs in leucorrhoea.

10 g fine powder of each of-

1. Loha Bhasma – Bhasma prepared from Iron
2. Tamra Bhasma – Bhasma prepared from Copper
3. Shuddha Haratala – Purified and processed Orpiment (Arsenic tri sulphide)
4. Vanga Bhasma – Tin Calx
5. Abhraka Bhasma – Purified and processed Mica
6. Varatika Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Cowries
7. Shunti – Ginger Rhizome – Zingiber officinalis
8. Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
9. Pippali – Long pepper fruit – Piper longum
10. Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia chebula
11. Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia bellirica
12. Amalaki – Indian gooseberry fruit – Emblica officinalis Gaertn.
13. Eranda – Castor – Ricinus communis
14. Vidanga – False black pepper – Embelia ribes
15. Saindhava Lavana – Rock salt
16. Samudra Lavana – Common salt

Properties and Uses

Pradarantak lauh is maily useful in Leucorrhoea, Menorrhagia and menstrual disorder. It also gives relief in abnormal discharge from the vagina, low appetite, indigestion(ajirna), low fever, weakness, anemia irritability, and pain in vagina, lower back , and the pelvis.

Dosages and Anupan

1 tab two times a day with Ghee, Honey and Sugar candy or as directed by physician.

Side effects

It’s a metallic formulation, so don’t start self medication.

Over-dosage with this medicine may cause side effects like burning sensation in stomach.

Pregnant women, lactating mothers and children should take this medicine with proper prescription by a Ayurvedic Doctor.
