Dhootpapeshwar Kaphakuthar Rasa is a potent ayurvedic herbomineral tablet formulation composed of 10  herbal and mineral ingredients. The Sanskrit word 'Kuthar' means 'Axe', as the name suggests it helps in destroying the vitiated Kapha Dosha in the body.

All the ingredients used in this formulation are designed to act specifically on Pranavaha srotas (respiratory tract) and aid in alleviating respiratory disorders like cough, fever, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, etc. The Kaphachedaka action of this formulation helps in expelling the vitiated Kapha Dosha out of the body and it soothes the respiratory tract.

It is beneficial in chronic cough, bronchial asthma with thick and frothy phlegm, and fever due to Kapha Dosha aggravation associated with Cold, heaviness, etc. Parada used in this formulation possesses Vrushya(Aphrodisiac), Tridosha Hara, Rasayan(nourishing), and Yogavahi(clears the obstruction in subtle tissues)  properties.

Shuddha Gandhak has Dipana, Pachana, Amanashaka(clears obstruction in subtle channels of circulation), Kushtahara(cures skin disease), Yogavahi, and Rasayana properties which makes it the best remedy for the debilitating nature of cough, bronchial asthma, and anemia.

Sunthi, Pippali, and Maricha collectively called 'Trikatu' helps in relieving aggravated Kapha and Vata Doshas, is beneficial in asthma and fever, and is also an excellent Digestant. Loha Bhasma and Tamra Bhasma have Rasayana and Brihmana properties which are essential for the treatment of chronic Cough.

These drugs are processed in kantakari, Dhatura Patra swarasa, and Katuki Kwath which helps in enhancing the therapeutic efficiency of this formulation as they are known to be the best antitussive Herbs. Rasa kalpas has a faster and better therapeutic efficiency than herbal formulations.
