Mustharishtam - It is used in the treatment of Diarrhoea, Constipation, Anorexia, Indigestion, Vomiting, Sprue, Dyspepsia, Cholera, etc.
Vaidyaratnam Mustharishtam is one of the most commonly prescribed Ayurvedic aqueous composition comprising 5 to 10% self-generated alcohol. It has Musta (Cyperus rotundus) as one of the main ingredients which are a potent remedy for abdominal disorders.
Properties and Uses:
It is used in the treatment of Diarrhoea, Constipation, Anorexia, Indigestion, Vomiting, Sprue, Dyspepsia, Cholera, etc.
Dosage and Anupan:
It should be taken in a dose not more than 2-4 tsp (15-30 ml) at a time, along with an equal quantity of water.
Side Effects:
A single dosage of more than 50 ml causes gastrointestinal disturbances.
Shelf Life:
10 years. A bottle should be emptied within 90 months of opening.
