SN Herbals Suvarna Sanskaram is an Ayurvedic Classical Medicine manufactured by S N Herbals. It is a Suvarna Prashana preparation. Suvarna means Purified Gold and Prashana is to consume thus the act of consuming Suvarna or Purified Gold is Suvarna Prashana. Suvarna Prashana is also termed as Swarna bindu prashan. It is considered one of the 16 Sanskars (regimens) described in Kashyapa Samhitha.

The administration of Suvarna Prashana is described in Kashyapa Samhita Sutra Sthana Lehan Aadhaya. In Jatakarma Sanskaram, it is told that Suvarna prashana should be administered soon after birth. Suvarna Prashana signifies the administration of Shuddha Suvarna / Purified Gold alone or along with various Dravyas in a Leha / Prasha form and can be given from birth to 16 years of age.

Acharya Kashyapa mentions the east direction that one should face while preparing Suvarna Prashana. Acharya Susrutha and Acharya Charak, respectively mention the usage of Suvarna on Pushya Nakshatra (a star in the Hindu calendar).

The current popular practice of Suvarna Sanskaram is only on the day of Pushya Nakshatra may be due to the belief that it is an auspicious Nakshatra to administer any medication due to its nourishing effect. It can be given at Rasayana Kala or Empty Stomach for better results.

• 0.5 gm to 2 gms per day at Rasayana Kala i.e. empty stomach or as directed by an Ayurveda Physician.

• It can be administered from birth to 16 years of age.

• If administered for 1 month, the Shishu will become Parama Medhavi (highly intelligent) and Vyadhibhir Na Cha Drusyate (will not be affected by any disease).
