Kottkkal Cheriya Rasnadi is the best formulation for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. It is a  collection of various carefully chosen plants whose effective parts as roots when taken together help in pacifying the vaata vikaras which may lead to many nerve disorders. 

The main component of this kashaya is Rasana, which is specifically effective for pacifying vaat and other respiratory disorders. With Rasana, there are many other drugs such as Eranda, Bala, Vaari, Vasa, Amrita, Sahchar, Ativisha, Ghana, Shunthi, etc. These drugs altogether perform a function as anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

It also contains rasayana i.e Amrita which increases immunity, increase life span, and quality of life. Rasnadi Kashayam is a very effective formulation because of its mode of preparation. It is a kashaya that means kwath kalpana in which the drugs are first converted into a very fine powder known as churna.

Then this churna is boiled in its eight times water until it gets reduced to its one–fourth part. This decoction is known as kwath. Rasnadi kashayam is made by this method in which the active and effective part of each plant is collected and then converted into churna. This churna is then boiled with its eight times water.

When the liquid remains one-fourth of the total amount then the liquid is separated from the solid part known as Rasnadi kashayam. Extract of each drug comes purely into this kashayam. Thus it is also effective for cold, coughs, irregular bowel syndrome, hemorrhage, and cardiovascular problems. It provides strength to body muscles and also acts as an antibacterial, antifungal, and spasmodic action.
