Himalaya Bresol Tablet is an ayurvedic polyherbal formulation to treat allergic rhinitis and other respiratory disorders.  It is considered a breathing tablet, which can be used in the treatment of asthma. It is used in cases of pollen allergies also. Its key ingredients are Holy basil, Haridra, and Vasaka.

The Bresol tablet has mucolytic, broncho dilatory, and anti-microbial action. By mucolytic and bronchodilatory action it reduces the viscosity of mucus and decreases resistance in breathing airways which helps in relieving and liquefying bronchial and nasal congestion. Antihistaminic properties protect against pollen-induced bronchospasms.

Through its anti-microbial action, it prevents infections caused by both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It contains extracts of Curcuma longa (Haridra), Ocimum sanctum (Tulasi), Trikatu (pepper, long pepper, ginger), Elattaria cardamomum (Ela), Mesua ferrea ( Nagakesara), Cyperus rotundus (Musta), Embelia ribes (Vidangam), Triphala (Haritaki , Amalaki, Vibhitaki), Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Tvak) and Cinnamomum tamala (pathra).

The Bresol Tablet causes a highly significant reduction in conditions like nasal congestion, postnasal drip, sneezing, itching of the nose, asthma, and rhinorrhea. It significantly reduces the increased levels of Lymphocytes, eosinophils, monocytes, ESR, etc.

Himalaya Bresol Tablet Ingredients

Haridra 100mg – Curcuma Longa (Turmeric): Katu rasa pradhana, Laghu Ruksa gunam, Usna viryam, And it is varnyam, kantivardhakam and lekhanam. Used in pinasa, pandu, prameha etc. diseases. It contains a chemical constituent Curcumin, which blocks the protein complex NF-kappa B which is related to asthma and allergy.

It counteracts the action of histamine and suppresses the allergic response. Helps in asthma conditions by relieving cough, nasal congestion, and breathing difficulty. Curcumin also has an immunostimulatory activity and hence increases the circulating antibody titer, plaque-forming cells, alpha-esterase positive cells, and phagocytosis.

Tulasi 50mg – Ocimum Sanctum (Holy Basil): Katu tikta rasam, Laghu Ruksa Tikshna gunam, Usna viryam. It is agnidipanam, rucyam, hrdyam etc. Used in diseases like svasa, kasa, hikka, asmari, chardi,visama jvara, parswa Sula, etc. It possesses antihistaminic properties which prevent pollen etc. allergens-induced bronchospasms.

Also has anti-oxidant properties since it inhibits the production of nitric oxide. It helps in the treatment of allergic respiratory disorders. It promotes the secretion of phlegm or mucus from the respiratory tract. Ocimum sanctum has an immunostimulatory effect on the humoral immunologic response as well as on the cellular immunologic response.

A decrease in histamine release from mast cells (humoral immune responses) and a decrease in leucocyte migration inhibition (cell-mediated immune responses) in addition observed a potent anti-inflammatory activity. Also, possess analgesic action. In addition, Orientin and Vicenin isolated from thulasi have strong antioxidant activity.

Vasaka 50mg – Adhatoda Vasica: Tikta rasam, Laghu gunam, Sita viryam. It is hrdyam, sonithasthapanam, and kanthya. Used in kasa, swasa, chardi, ksaya, rajayakshma, etc diseases. It is a mucolytic which thins out mucus sputum and also alleviates cough. It also has bronchodilatory properties which help improve breathing in respiratory disorders.

Trikatu -8mg: Pepper – Piper nigrum ( Maricham), Long pepper – Piper longum ( pippali), Ginger – Zingiber officinale (Shundi). A mixture of three herbs.

Triphala 8mg: Haritaki – Terminalia chebula, Amalaki – Emblica officinalis, Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellerica. It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmolytic, and antioxidant efficacy and it reduces mucus secretion in the airways.
