Kottakkal Kalyanagulam is a well-known ayurvedic herbal jam-like formulation that works primarily as an intricate formula that heals your gut and enhances your bowel function. Consumption of pippali is proven to exhibit antispasmodic action and hypoglycaemic effect which helps in lowering the blood sugar level.

It is also proven to be an antagonist in respiratory depression. Also due to its deepana and pachana (digestant and appetizer) properties, it is the best drug for digestive disorders. Haritaki contains potent active ingredients which help in improving hair health. It is very beneficial in the treatment of scalp infections like dandruff, itching, and hair fall. It also strengthens the hair follicles and prevents its breakage and ensures silky soft and smooth hair.

It is one of the three prime ingredients in Triphala, a natural compound that provides overall support for digestive function and helps ensure that the digestive tract works at optimal levels. This formulation contains Panchalavanas (the five salts).
