Lohasavam is an ayurvedic fermented liquid preparation enriched with the goodness of 13 herbal ingredients. It contains 5-10 % of self-generated alcohol. This self-generated alcohol and the water present in the product act as a media to deliver water and alcohol-soluble active herbal components to the body by the use of chitrak (Plumbago Zeylanica) a root that stimulates the nervous system and calms the excited nerves and stimulates hemoglobin production in the body.

The main ingredients of kottakkal lohasavam are amla which is commonly known as Indian Gooseberry in English and Emblica Officinalis in the scientific name which helps to reduce oxidative stress, by scavenging free radicals and improves digestive processes.
