Baidyanath Mahashankh vati is Ayurvedic poly herbo-mineral formulation, which is available as tablet form. Bati or Vati are Sanskrit terms simply means tablet in modern termonology.In Ayurveda Classics Sankha Vati seems with two names Sankha Vati and Maha Shankha Vati. If Loha & Vanga added in Sankha Vati formulation it can be called as Maha Shankha Vati.

Maha Shankh bati helps in digesting endotoxins, stimulating the digestive system and it also contains the laxative agent that is helpful in the treatment of constipation, and in the treatment of digestive diseases such as bloating, indigestion, and flatulence.

1. Romaka Lavana
2. Vida Lavana – Vida salt
3. Samudra Lavana – Common salt
4. Sauvarchala Lavana – Sochal salt
5. Saindhava Lavana – Rock salt
6. Hingu – Asa foetida
7. Shankha Bhasma – Bhasma of Conch Shell
8. Chincha – Tamarind – Tamarindus indica (Kshara)
9. Shunti – Ginger Rhizome – Zingiber officinalis
10. Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
11. Pippali – Long pepper fruit – Piper longum
12. Vali – Gandhaka – Purified and processed Sulphur
13. Rasa – Herbal purified Mercury
14. Shuddha Vatsanabha – Purified Aconitum ferox
15. Quantity sufficient of Water decoction each of following –
16. Shikhi – Chitraka – Lead Wort (root) – Plumbago zeylanica
17. Saikharika – Apamarga – Achyarnthes aspera
18. Amlavarga – tamarind, gooseberry
19. Nimbu – Lemon juice-Q.s.

Properties and Uses

Baidyanath Mahashankh Vati is widely used for the treatment of indigestion and abdominal pain.dyspepsia, colic pain, abdominal gas and other digestive problems.

Dosage and Anupan

1 to 2 tablets (250 to 500 mg), two timmes in day (morning and evening) with buttermilk.

Side effects

It contains Aconite and over dosage may cause Low blood Pressure and lowering Heart beats.
