This ayurvedic formulation of Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine, with herbal and mineral ingredients, in tablet form. It is used in Kapha type of fever, with heaviness in the body. Kafkuthar Ras is herbomineral Ayurvedic formulation. It is useful in the treatment of phlegm, respiratory infections. This medicine contains Lauha and Tamra Bhasma which loosen cough and helps in easy expulsion. The other medicinal herbs used in the preparation of this medicine are Pippali, Maricha, and Sonth.

Ingredients:

Equal quantities of powders of

Parada – Purified and processed Mercury

Gandhaka – Purified and processed Sulphur

Vyosha – Pepper- long pepper and ginger

Tamra bhasma – Copper bhasma

Ayas Bhasma – Iron Bhasma

The above ingredients are ground with

Kantakari rasa -Juice extract of Solanum xanthocarpum

Dhattura rasa - Juice extract of Datura metel

Katuki rasa - Juice extract of Picrorhiza kurroa

Properties and Uses:

It is used to treat Kapha type of fever which is associated with heaviness, cold etc. Also relieves respiratory conditions such as cough, cold, bronchitis etc. It is effective in balancing Kapha.

Dosage and Anupan:

About 1 to 2 tablets once or twice a day before or after food with honey

Side effects:

Overdosage can cause many side effects including gastritis due to presence of heavy metals.

Shelf life:

Maximum upto 5 years from the date of manufacturing
