Partharishtam - It is a herbal cardiotonic which is used in the treatment of hypertension, respiratory disorders, and throat related disorders.
Vaidyaratnam Partharishtam is one of the most commonly prescribed Ayurvedic aqueous composition comprising 5 to 10% self-generated alcohol. It has Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) as one of the main ingredients which are a potent cardiotonic.
Properties and Uses:
It is a herbal cardiotonic which is used in the treatment of hypertension, respiratory disorders, and throat related disorders.
It helps in strengthening and cleansing intestines.
Dosage and Anupan:
It should be taken in a dose not more than 2-4 tsp (15-30 ml) at a time, along with an equal quantity of water.
Side Effects:
Although side effects are not common but should be taken under a physician’s supervision.
Jaggery in it may increase blood sugar levels in diabetics.
Shelf Life:
10 years. A bottle should be emptied within 90 months of opening.
